Process

-First and foremost, YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD, no exceptions (sorry) I WILL NOT tattoo names of spouses, girlfriends or boyfriends. ONLY exceptions are children or parents/grandparents. I am sure you can think of something that will remind you of that person if you prefer.

-Please contact me via email or phone (250-809-4862 or kai@stixink.com), to set up the consultation. If you come by the studio and I am with a client, I will kindly ask you to take a card and contact me via phone or email. (Pls. include placement, size, and subject matter desired)

(The consultation is the time where we talk about your tattoo. (Design, placement, etc) At this time I will also be able to give you a ROUGH idea of how long your tattoo will take.)

THE DEPOSIT

After we have talked and come to an agreement on the design on your new tattoo, I will require a deposit of $200 (non-refundable). ONLY after I have received the deposit, will I add your drawing to the list. Your deposit will be applied to the LAST session of your tattoo. You WILL LOSE your deposit if you do not show up at all or if you give me less then 48-hrs notice to cancel/reschedule. (if either happens I will require a NEW deposit before making a new appointment)

YOUR DRAWING

Please understand that I wish to not rush my drawings. I put a great deal of time into proper research as well as sketch time until I am happy with my drawings. Drawings come in priority as to appointment date. Please feel free to contact me to see how things are, but I cannot promise anything, I take one drawing on at a time. (I have a current drawing wait of 1-2 months for larger work and about 3 weeks for the smaller ones) If you have made it this far, you have put your trust in me to not only tattoo you, but in my drawing abilities as well. I will do my best to give you the best tattoo to my abilities. I will not tattoo you until I am happy with the drawing, as the end result will have my name on it as well..

IN THE MEAN TIME

Please take care of the area to be tattooed, it is for the sake of your tattoo. If you are planning to be in the sun, please use plenty of sunscreen (45spf or better). I CANNOT tattoo over scabs or 'almost healed' wounds. Applying a moisturizer to the area will also help soften up your skin to allow for better tattooing, as well as the healing.

TATTOO TIME

Get a good sleep the night before, eat a good breakfast, and bring some snacks. Being well prepared mentally will help your experience so much more! Keep in mind, I do not smoke. If you do and require 'smoke breaks' I have a lovely spot around the corner in the alley. I try to keep the appearance of my studio 'very professional' and do not want a butt collection outside my door. Thank you in advance. My minimum is $200 for any tattooing. My hourly Rate is $150 for 'larger, multi sitting pieces' (i.e.: sleeves, full back, etc) Your tattoo will take as long as it will to complete. I cannot give a precise 'quote' on how long it will take. If you are on a 'budget' please don't hesitate to let me know. I am more then willing to help accommodate you in getting your tattoo. (Please do not ask me how much a 'sleeve' will cost; it truly is a matter of time. Usually a min of 25hrs)

PLEASE:

do not get wasted the night before your appointment, show up blindingly hung over or still drunk. If you do, I will be forced to cancel our appointment along with your deposit.

THE WEEK AFTER

Your healing time will very from about 5-14 days. Be prepared to stay out of the sun, any water (other then showering), and activities that could inhibit the healing of your new tattoo. This includes sports, work (if you have a 'dirty job') or excessive exercise causing you to sweat profusely. !!!The better you take care of your tattoo while it is healing, the better the end result will be!!!

TOUCH UPS

I have a free touch up policy to clients who take care of their tattoos and due to my tattooing, require a touch up. Touch ups due to miss-care, picking, and self-inflicted scabbing, or over exposure to the sun will be done at my regular hourly rate.
